West Virginia Modern Quilt Guild

Where mountain folk art meets progressive quilting

I going to leave this site up because it is paid for and i worked really hard on it. Make sure you go into your settings and check the boxes that you wish to be sent to your email. like discussions, blogs, etc.

Also, at the bottom of every picture, entry or whatever on this site is a facebook icon. If you enter something here, like i am doing it will go to our facebook page. Facebook relocated us but we the link is West Virginia Modern Quilters Guild.

From the initial call for help we have 6-7 members as of today that wish to stay in the guild, either online or in person.

For now I would like to open up the discussion of projects. Does anyone have a project that they have been wanting to try. We could do one small one and start another larger one. some people (i am not mentioning names) make long lists and have parts of several projects going on at once but never seem to FINISH anything. Sound familiar? Well...what better way than to encourage each other on.

We have some new members...i posted a gorgeous granny quilt on the facebook wall. I know I would love to do a Swoon...even one block makes an adorable baby quilt. It would give you a good lesson on HST's. BUT we could just make a potholder and an apron (both are on my list)...

just ideas girls

throw them out there

anyone? anyone?

okay, the link does not work but google will take you there. i have no idea what is going on with that so....i am thinking we need to possibly change over to a regular google blogger site. i know the rss feed works on this but it will on blogspot as well. We could slowly change over until everyone that wants to be involved is notified. I will continue to update you on that and any input is welcome.

Hi Leslie,

Do we have a Facebook page now? Can you tell us what it is?

Thanks,

Alicia

yes, click the link in the message and it will take you to google which gives you the link.

Hi Leslie,

Unfortunately, that link only returns an error.  I also attempted to search on Facebook and was also unable to locate it.

Thanks,

Alicia

The Modern Quilt Guild is having a block Challenge maybe we could make block and submit them all together for our guild? See more at www.themodernquiltguild.com the blocks are due in August and need to be in the Quiltcon colors

Hi Elizabeth!

We are having issues with this site vs. Facebook. Most are using Facebook and we have not had a meeting in a long time. We are getting enough new members to try to make a go of it again and i have had several people offer to help.

I can check into the block challenge but i do know i am in three different bees right now on flickr. i have 24 granny squares due before sept plus 8 additional blocks a month through the end of the year. i will see if i can manage it myself.

is anyone else interested?

I put the information on FB like you said. Also included info about the MQG Guild Challenge.
